Labeled “L 66/140 Made in Italy” on the reverse. This gorgeous instrument stands out with an unusual feature: five treble mutes (chrome discs), a curious deviation from the more common four or six-mute configurations of the 391982. Though this vintage accordion is a beautiful instrument with plenty of charm, I am not a musician, so please forgive my lack of skill in the included 1-minute video demo—let’s just say my playing will not be headlining any concerts soon! That said, the bellows appear free of tears, though there are a few minor stains in the creases—nothing visually distracting. All switches feel snappy, and the keys remain responsive and springy. A professional tune-up would likely enhance its performance. This classic instrument measures 19” x 16” x 9”. It comes with several straps: two newer padded shoulder straps with a cross brace, the original left-hand strap (which shows some age), and both original bellows straps, still in good working condition. Included but not attached, there are two thin brown shoulder straps which appear to be original. Some buyers may find them worth restoring for an authentic touch. The accordion comes with its original case, which has seen better days. The exterior is rough, with the old covering peeled off in places, exposing the underlying wood structure. It’s solid, though, with functional latches (but no key for locking). The lid’s angle support is missing a screw, but this could be a simple fix. Inside the case, you’ll find vintage sheet music from the 1930s and 40s—a delightful bonus for collectors!
