Description: This listing is for a vintage mid-century modern MCM sterling silver pin stamped on the back “925S. Sterling. Denmark. Handmade. Brd. B.” The pieces from this studio are highly prized for their simplistic, modernist and elegant designs and because of their rarity. The Brodrene Bjorklund Studios only operated in Copenhagen, Demark, from 1961 to 1971. The Brd is an abbreviation for Brodrene which means brother in Danish. The studio was founded by trained silversmiths who contributed to the development of Danish silverwork. This item is from an estate of a woman who worked for Pan Am Airlines from the mid 1950s to the mid 1980s and traveled EXTENSIVELY, including Denmark. We know, because we have her passports.This sterling silver brooch is egg shaped. In the center of the shape is another egg-shaped outline with a stunning green chalcedony round cabochon stone inset. The stone is apple green and has wonderful clarity. See photos. The back of the item has a pin back with closed clasp. The stamp reads, “925S. Sterling. Denmark. Handmade. Brd. B.” The pin measures 2” wide by 1 3/8” tall by ¼” in depth. Outstanding condition.
