Description: About the item Title: Born Rich 7Size: 17" x 22"Edition: 2 of 5Certificate of Authenticity: Included Born Rich 7 is a provocative, symbolic fine art print that merges elements of defiance and vulnerability. The image prominently features the word “RESIST” scrawled across a nude, androgynous torso, set against a moody, dreamlike palette of deep reds and purples. The layered texture and bold text evoke themes of rebellion, societal pressure, and self-empowerment. The tactile additions to the surface, reminiscent of crystals or fragments, lend a dimensional, almost sculptural quality to the print, engaging the viewer to confront issues of identity, body politics, and resistance. As part of a limited edition of 5, with 1 already in a private collection, this piece reflects the artist’s exploration of wealth, privilege, and the fragility of power structures. About the body of work: Born Rich Born Rich is a body of work that interrogates the constructs of wealth, power, and their intersections with human identity and material culture. By juxtaposing symbols like fool’s gold, dust, and Swarovski crystals with classical male figurative poses, Geana explores the timeless struggle of humanity’s pursuit of wealth in a modern, hyper-capitalistic era. The work draws on these elements to evoke a sense of both grandeur and fragility, underscoring the fleeting nature of material value. In these ghostly, evocative images, viewers are invited to question the obsession with perfection—whether in the filtered images of today or the polished facades of wealth itself. The metallic elements in the final photographs take on new meaning, as their symbolism shifts from abundance to ambiguity. What is truly valuable in a world where value is constantly redefined? Geana channels societal frustrations, using a unique water-bath printing process that distorts and reshapes the photographic image. This technique embodies the disillusionment that pervades modern perceptions of wealth and success, where appearances are often more important than substance. The work asks viewers to confront their own relationship with wealth—tangible or digital—and to consider their role as collectors, becoming stakeholders in the value and meaning of the artwork itself. In a world where being "Born Rich" has become both a literal and metaphorical necessity, Geana’s work pushes us to reflect on the structures that define success, and the elusive nature of value.
