They are large, lavish volumes, well-suited for either personal perusal or family story time. Andrew Lang worked with his wife and a team of translators and scribes to collect hundreds of fairy tales from all around the world from 1889 to 1910. They were published in twelve volumes, named after colors. This Blue Fairy Book contains thirty-seven tales and seventeen full-color illustrations, along with multiple black and white vignette drawings. I am very fond of the art of Charles van Sandwyck and his work for this book is truly spectacular! I bought this book new and it is in very good condition. I take excellent care of my books in my smoke-free environment.
