In a brief test, it pulled smoothly and sounded good, but for serious audiophile performance, pads should be replaced. Tapes in this class make fine “Collectables”, but in terms of audio performance, be aware that deficient pads might result in a degradation in sound quality. This is an easy fix—but I’d rather just tell you up front and take a few bucks less rather than take it apart (and risk ending up with tape all over the floor). Check out my other 8-tracks!
