Both the selector shaft and selector lever are made of T6 Aluminum. Due to the countless uses and exposure to the elements, both parts are Hard Anodized to prevent wear and corrosion. Although the E4OD and 4R100 are 4-speed transmissions, they have only three forward shifter positions, so a 3-speed shifter must be used.
