The gores are cut and applied by hand on papier-mache globe spheres. The globe is meticulously handcrafted using the complicated ‘gravure’ printing process that results in the sharpest details, lines and symbols. The globe stand is made of solid aluminum with a polished pewter finish. On the stands semi-meridian (half arm) are latitude (coordinate) markings which start at the equator 0° and run to 90° at the north and south pole.
