Description: Shangri La mulberry - delicious sweet organic cold hardy A fast-growing, small-sized mulberry tree. mature tree is 18'-20' tall x 18'20' wide. Will produce fruits from May to June. The fruit is large black, over 1.5" long, sweet and delicious.Originated in Naple, Florida, but survived well in North NJ, zone 6.Self-pollinating. Drought and heat-tolerant. If you order cuttings only, the temperature is less an issue as long as the package not left baking under sunlight. The cuttings are about 8" long, and 1/4 -1/2" diameter. The mother tree grows in-ground (northern NJ, zone 6) without winter protection. They will be fresh cut right before shipping and wrapped with damp paper inside a plastic bag. There are many ways to root the cuttings, the principle is to keep it moist and warm (> 70-75 F). Rooting hormone NOT required for this variety. The easiest way to root this variety will be sticking it into moist soil. Make sure the soil is humid, but not soggy. Mulberry will grow flower before leaf, please remove flower so the energy will be used for rooting and leafing.I am a licensed nursery, my facility is inspected and passed by the NJ Dept of Agriculture annually.
