Description: BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION SCOTIA - GLENVILLE 1776-1976 AMERICAN REVOLUTION BICENTENNIAL BOOK OF REMEMBRANCES June 18-26, 1976 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Wraps; stapled binding; unpaginated; Size Approx. 8 1/2 X 10 3/4. Published by Glenville Republican Committee; 1976. Details: "This small booklet is only the surface of the vast history of our community, Scotia-Glenville. Our area is richly endowed with stories about our beginning as a great nation. In our bicentennial year of 1976 there will be many celebrations and parades to commemorate our beginning as a nation. But let us not forget about the people who did all the back-breaking work to get us where we are today. The lonely 'Guardian Farmer,' whose hand knew the feel of the plow as well as that of a rifle. It was he who plowed the earth, and yet stood ready to ward off any danger to his family and community. It is this person and thousands like him, we should be remembering and paying tribute to with celebrations this year. You will find many first family names of Scotia-Glenville mentioned as well as many writings from the Percy Van Epps collection. These were made available to us through the generosity of Mr. George Palmer and Mrs. Henerrita Vander Veer, respectively. The senior citizens of our area were a help is telling us their memories of their youth. To all these people, to Mrs. Marjorie Sanges and to Harold 'Woody' Woodworth, I can only say thank you for making this work easier and more enjoyable." Bonnie Weatherwax, Heritage Coordinator (from the front of the booklet) Illustrated with black and white photographs. A fine addition for your bookshelf! Condition: There is a name and address written in the front; there is a small red mark on the lower edge of the front cover; otherwise the booklet is in good condition with a firm binding and clean pages. * * * * * * * * Note: The letter/number at the end of the title line for this listing is just an inventory code for locating the book. ______________________________________ Free Domestic Economy Shipping! We appreciate the impact a good book can have. We know the excitement of a new page turner, or the familiar joy of an old favorite, and we find satisfaction in putting older, and often scarce books in the hands of people who have the same love for old books that we do.Customer Service:Rivendell Antiquarian Books is committed to ensuring each customer is entirely satisfied with their puchase and our service. If you have any issues or concerns please contact us and we will be more than happy to help. Our books have been inspected carefully by hand by experienced book valuers to ensure the condition description is as accurate as possible for this exact copy pictured. If you have questions about the book before or after purchasing, please feel free to contact us!Packaging:We take pride in packaging our books for safe delivery, and if you check our feedback, you will see this reflected in the comments of many pleased customers. For nearly all of our books, we use a specially designed boxing system from IPS (Inovative Packaging Solutions) located in York, PA. These media shipping boxes are designed to conform to the size of the book, securing it and preventing it from bumping around during shipping. The end result is a box which provides a double thickness of cardboard covering the front and back of the book; actually almost like a box within a box. The outer layer of cardboard extends beyond the ends of the inner "box" which very efficiently protects the corners of the book from being bumped and damaged by the sometimes rough handling packages receive in transit. In addition we place the book in a plastic bag to help guard against moisture if a package is left out in the elements.Delivery:We aim to get all books shipped within 24 hours of order except on weekends. We can't control the delivery time once a book leaves our hands, but most of the time USPS is prompt in delivery, and the expected delivery time given by eBay is usually fairly accurate. Because we use media mail to keep costs down, it does take a little longer for delivery, and occasionally packages get delayed in the mail system. If for some reason your order has not arrived within the expected time frame, please get in contact with us so that we can try to help you.
