Each Sunday, the services are broadcastand televised, and those within the range of these mediums arefamiliar with this beautiful voice.The President of Comfort Records, B. B. Cunningham, is amember of Bellevue Baptist Church, and each Sunday as helistened to Bette, pouring forth God’s praises, he thought whata wonderful thing it would be if this voice could be recorded andgiven to the world, as it were, instead of just a limited number.And so . . . the idea of this album was born.After much planning and preparation, (for this inspiring voice,as a precious jewel, must be presented in the proper setting), wewere ready to begin production. One of the finest recordingstudios in the South, The Pepper Studio, was obtained, and theEngineer, Welton Jetton, put his skill and technical knowledgeat our disposal. Arrangements for the soloist, choral and instru-mental has to be made, and for these, the talents of LarryMuhoberac were commissioned. Larry Allen, Pianist; DavidTyson, Organist; and Lyn Vernon, who played both Guitar andVibraharp, were called in to accompany Bette. A Choral groupwas made up of the finest voices in Memphis, each a soloist inhis or her own right, but blended together to form a superbchoral background. This group consists of fourteen voices.Bette is married to Ed Stalnecker, a Baptist Minister of Music,a man whose musical ability is comparable to hers, and so it wasonly natural that Ed be called upon to direct the choral group,and his deft handling has added greatly to the over all productionof this album. To coordinate the many facets necessary to obtainthe album’s ultimate success, Bill Justis was obtained as Advisorand Producer.Bette Stalnecker has traveled extensively over The United States,singing for Revival Services, not only for the Baptist Church,but for all denominations, and the numbers for this album werecarefully selected from those most frequently requested by heraudiences.It is interesting to note, that at the recording session, at its begin-ning, all stood and bowed their heads together in prayer. Led byEd Stalnecker, he prayed for Divine Guidance from our Heav-enly Father, invoking His Blessings on our efforts in this musicalendeavor. And ... it would seem our efforts were rewarded, forthe album exceeded even our highest expectations with its spirit-ual beauty, its clarity of sound, the superb blending of soloist,chorus and musical instruments, each complementing and sup-porting the other.The dream is nearing completion. Atan early age, she dedicated her talents to the Lord. So deep wereher convictions toward this calling, she exerted every effort toperpare herself academically for the fullest service. Eight yearsof intensive vocal study, followed by a College Course at Louisi-ana State University, led to a coveted Master of Music Degree.Bette has sung Oratorio, Opera and Musical Comedy, yec stillfeels that her calling is in the Religious field.She is married to Ed Stalnecker and is the Mother of two sons,Rickey, age seven, and Loren, age four.Bette has a voice of rare beauty, of great spiritual depth, and theability to impart to her listeners this spiritual feeling.
