Description: DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION Up for sale is a vintage match box holder ashtray made for the Bergen Steamship Company, Bergenske Dampskibsselskab BDS in Norwegian. Founded in 1851 by Michael Krohn. It is marked on the base K. Hestenes, I assume K for Kristian, Bergen. It measures just under 5” across the base and stands about 4” tall. This is an old used item that has some surface wear and knocks. Please review the photographs and email me if you have any questions or want additional photographs. I mainly sell used older items including antiques, collectibles and oddities so please expect some signs of wear from use. I will identify or describe any unusual or notable wear and damage in the description of the item or in the photographs but please email me if you have specific concerns I have not addressed.
