From the mid 1960's through to the 1990's the R-1051 and its variants were the HF receivers of the choice for the U.S. NAVY. Easy to operate it was the work horses of every ships radio room. The receiver was used in all Navy ships from patrol boats through to carriers. With its amazing stability, it was tune and forget! Direct Digital Synthesis, 100Hz tuning increments, 2-4uV sensitivity, and BWs of 3.1 or 6kHz depending on mode of operation. Triple conversion Superheterodyne HF, solid state except for two 6BZ6s, isolated against leakage to prevent enemy detection of the LO’s + Frequency stability of 1X10-8 per day! The B model has a 100 Hz synthesizer which can be unlock for accurate tuning.
