Description: This lamp shade is a bit of a mystery to me. I think it is to be used as a hanging lamp shade, but I am not sure. It is made of a cream colored damask fabric that looks like linen and satin, but it is very lightweight. The design looks like brocade, but it is not actually raised off the surface. The dimension comes from the different types of thread used for the fabric. The shade is fully lined inside on a heavy metal frame. It has hanging bead trim at the bottom. It also has a beautiful heavy fabric rick-rack trim at the top, bottom and about one-fourth of the way up from the bottom. There is a chain drop at the top with a notched metal plate. The opening at the top measures approximately 3.5" in diameter. It measures 8" across at the bottom. There are long and short beaded "fringe" that measure approximately 1.5" and 2" in length. I am unsure of the age of this shade, but it is definitely a quality made shade that has a Victorian "feel" to it. CONDITION: The shade is in overall very good condition with no holes or damage. There is some light wear from normal use and a dark spot at the very top edge (as shown in photos), which is the only major flaw I see in the shade.
