Description: Here is another fabulous vintage bag. This is by Walborg - label reads "Exclusively for Walborg Made in Japan." I would say this is 1960s. It is a wonderful tomato-red raffia, also interwoven with a fine textured red cord (you can see this on the close-up pic of clasp). Very well made - exceptional raffia work. Snap-top closure with orange-colored balls - look like Bakelite but I am not sure. Four protector feet on the bottom. Interior is a red faille material - one open pocket and one zippered pocket. Approx. 13 wide across at the bottom x 8-1/2 tall to top of frame; 14-1/2 tall to top of handle and 4 inches front to back at bottom. Bag is structured despite being raffia - i.e., it stands upright on its own, rather than slouching over. There is clearly a firmer material behind the straw - you can hear it sort of like a crackle if you press or squeeze on the bag! From my personal collection and stored for many years, this is in fabulous vintage condition (a few pulls to the raffia, but overall it is excellent; interior is a bit faded, shows light wear, a tiny tear). This is a very nice bag - and a great color - by Walborg.
