Description: Up for sale is a beautiful Beautiful Ferdinand Burgdorff (1881-1975) oil on canvas. 17 x 25 excluding frame. Including frame approximately 22 x30. Signed. Dated to 1916? Hard to make out date. A great piece by this well known and collected California artist. Known for his landscape pieces of California, Monterry and the dessert southwest. He has a strong auction record and is well represented in museums and collections around the world. It is signed lower right and dated. Date is tough to make out as is signature given the black signature over a dark piece of painting. Striking colors. Old, probably original to the piece carved wooden frame. Fantastic coloring. Clouds are really nice. Overall in nice condition with no significant issues although it could use a cleaning. Frame is carved and looks like it was colored at one point. Frame has several dings and the coloring if it was there is now mostly gone. A fairly large piece. Note shipping especially international buyers.
