Description: Rare Matched Pair of Antique Hallmarked 18th Century Colonial New England PEWTER BOWL & SpoonDESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....beautiful, rare, very early, matched antique colonial pewter bowl & spoon set. Very nicely made, deeper than a plate, and clearly made as a bowl. Measures 8 3/4" in diameter. Comes with nicely made matching spoon. Could have served a variety of purposes, e.g. breakfast cereal or soup, etc. Much, much scarcer than a typical plate. Extremely rare to find a bowl today compared to plates and other pieces.Particularly nice with the matching spoon. This can be used as a functional item or PARTICULARLY NICE & RARE AS AN ANTIQUE OR COLONIAL PERIOD DECORATIVE ITEM, with a collection or on a mantle, in a dining room or kitchen, or on the wall, etc. Definitely an 18th century piece, probably c.1760-70, and certainly REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD. Hallmarked on reverse as shown. In nice condition overall with REALLY NICE AGED PATINA. Shows its age and use particularly nicely, and has a nice antique appearance. Originally came out of a local New England pewter collection and has been in my personal collection for many years. The only pair and one of the nicest looking sets I have ever had.A great, special addition to any colonial pewter collection, for display, OR EVEN FOR USE. Would be a great, very unusual addition for use with your Thanksgiving or other special dinners.PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!!!Please see my auction list for other interesting items!!
