Description: Dear Ebayers, Up for Auction from The Aurum Vault is a very good to excellent copy of The Beatles 1967 Seargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in MONO featuring the NO NEMS/MACLEN reverse gatefold thus designating it as an early release first pressing from the SCRANTON manufacturing plant. I just finished inspecting this Gatefold and Vinyl with Acessories in my music room. The final verdict of my critical inspection is as follow:Very well preserved and above average compared to most SPLHCB MONO LP. The gatefold does have some bumps in the corners, There is a little cracking at the one corner BUT NO SPLITS, as the texture of the gatefold is starting to brittle a little bit. The gatefold graphics or artwork is not as vibrant as would be expected from a new copy, but it does retain a nice, mellowed color that has aged and is consistent throughout, and is has toned nicely in my opinion.THE VINYL appears NM or NM (-) per GOLDMINE Criteria and appears near flawless to my inspection. Some very faint and I mean a few, at best superficial wispy scattered lines. The labels are in near mint condition as well. The Blood Sleeve does a 2-inch separation at the bottom and has been repaired with clear tap as seen in photosSO OVERALL- NOT AS NICE A MY OTHERS AUCTION BUT A VG+ Graded GATEFOLD w/ NM VINYL AND LABELSThis record and gatefold were purchased by me about 15 years ago on EBAY and it is probably still in my history somewhere. HAS ALL THE FEATURES OF A FIRST PRESS MONO 1967:NO NEMS CREDITS -BACK COVER INDICATES THAT THIS IS THE VERY 1ST ISSUED COVER WITHOUT THE SMALL PRINT "© NEMS ENTERPRISES LTD. 1967" COPYRIGHT CLAIM ABOVE THE FACTORY INFORMATION IN THE LOWER RIGHT AREA. IT ALSO DOES NOT HAVE THE "ALL RIGHTS" AND "MACLEN MUSIC INC." PRINT.. A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS song title on label.FLAT black AND NON-GLOSSY LABELS INDICITIVE OF SRANTON PRESSING.I SUSPECT THIS WOULD BE A WONDERFUL ADDITION TO A FLEDGLING VINYL COLLECTOR and CERTAINLY AN EXCEPTIONAL LISTENING EXPERIENCE FOR AN AUDIOPHILE.THE VINVL APPEARS TO BE NEAR FLAWLESS TO NATURAL LIGHT AND UNDER INCANDESCENT LIGHTINGI PLAYED THIS ALBUM ONCE AND IT SOUNDED WONDERFUL and CRYSTAL CLEAR AND CRISP to ear and SOUL.I HAVE UPLOADED MANY PHOTOS FOR ONES INSPECTION AND WOULD BE HAPPY TO SEND MOREThe gatefold has retained deep color. There are a few discoloration spots on the reverse. FRONT of the gatefold cover is clean. The corners show some wear as seen in pictures which is mostly bumps at the corners. The inside gatefold has an aged yellow beautiful tone to it.The Blood Sleeve has a small 2-inch seam split repaired with clear tape. The cut- outs are flawless but the green has dulled a little in my critical opinion. The labels are near-mint and are by nature and experience very etherealThe Vinyl appears near mint with only a few faint wispy lines under close scrutiny with incandescent lighting. The audio sounds stunning and miraculous however I don't grade vinyl. I just listened to the vinyl and it is warm, crisp and no skips.BOTTOM LINE: A VERY COLLECTABLE ABOVE AVERAGE 1967 SMAS 2653 MONO PEPPERS SPECIMEN THAT WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO NEW COLLECTION AND AN OUTSTANDING VINYL AUDIOPHILIE EXPERIENCE. THIS VINYL RECORD HAS ALL THE TYPICAL FEATURES OF A 1967 FIRST PRESSING MONO MAS 2563 BEATLES SPLHCB GATEFOLD AND DISC.
