HISTORY/MARKS: Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther formed his company in 1814 in Hohenberg an der Eger, Bavaria and his son, Lorenz Hutschenreuther formed his company in 1857 in Selb, Bavaria. This latter company acquired P.T. Porcelain Factory in 1927 and then in 1969 was merged with the former company and continued operation as Hutschenreuther AG (Selb, Bavaria) until 1994 when the Tirschenreuth factory was closed due to bankruptcy. This gravy boat has the green underglaze "P.T." mark on it. The P. T. Bavaria Porcelain Factory Tirschenreuth was founded in 1838 in Tirshenreuth, Bavaria. After Hutschenreuther purchased the pottery in 1927, the mark was modified. The mark on this is cited by Robert E. Rontgen’s Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain 1710 to the Present as mark #755 used in the 1903-1927 time period. This also has red overglaze mark “STUDIO_4179_Handpainted”. After WWII, Germany was added to the mark. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description. The stand was used as a photo prop and is not part of this listing.
