Description: For auction is a wonderful piece of art pottery made by Batchelder of Los Angeles, CA. I have a very hard to find decorative tile that is done in an excellent theme. This tile is a nice petite size as it measures 4 1/4" in diameter, diagonal measurement. It is 3 11/16" from flat side to flat side and stands 5/8" tall or thick. The tile displays a hexagonal shape with an Arts and Crafts designed theme on red clay. The theme or pattern is that of 3 Fleur de Lis's in a raised relief pattern that comes out from corners of the tile. They meet each other in the center but don't touch. These Fleur de Lis's are done in a mottled brown glaze. These are set against a background of deep green. The tile is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. This tile is signed on the underside bottom with the impressed "BATCHELDER" over "LOS ANGELES" signature mark. This tile is considered somewhat rare to find especially in this theme. You commonly find the same size in a square tile. To find a hexagonal one was a real treat. Most of Batchelder tiles were square or rectangular. You will be hard pressed to find another one these tiles. This tile was made circa 1910-1920.Those of you who collect Batchelder tiles and want a rare example, you need to look no further!! PLEASE READ BELOW I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July of 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
