Description: After a bit more than 60 years of collecting it is time to move the collection along to good homes. Here is an interesting nice copper Bank of Montreal Half-Penny 1844 (BR 527). In 1842, after Upper and Lower Canada united as the Province of Canada, the Bank of Montreal was given the right to coin copper. This issue’s design features a front view of the bank building while the reverse has the Bank of Montreal on the banner amongst the seal and the date below- in this case 1844. Pennies and half-pennies were issued in 1842 and half-pennies again in 1844. The coin is 28mm in diameter. FREE SHIPPING to within the US. Outside the US please contact me for shipping costs.
