Description: This is a great piece of Banded Iron with some purple tones and a jagged grey inside of tan stripes. It has a neat "eye" pattern on one side. It weighs about 6.1 ounces, and measures approximately 2.5 X 2.25 x 1.25 inches. Is has been naturally polished by wind and water. Magnets will stick to it, but weakly. It was found in central Wyoming. Banded Iron is at least 1.8 billion years old and formed of iron, hematite, magnetite with chert, jasper or quartz. It is also known as Seer Stone, Tiger Iron, and Genesis Stone.Banded Iron is thought to have metaphysical properties including opening closed chakras, grounding, channeling energy, repelling negative energy, and healing.
