Description: Baker Bevans & Irwin Hand Colored Birds & Flowers Transferware Plate C.1814-1838 Nice antique pearlware plate. Decorated with a central black transfer pattern with birds and flowers with hand colored highlights in red, pink, yellow, and green. Has a relief molded floral and floral swag border. Unmarked. Probably produced by Baker Bevans & Irwin in Swansea, Wales between 1814 and 1838. This central transferware scene is not depicted in the Transferware Collectors Database, but the blank has the same molded floral border found on many marked examples that are depicted in the database. Has wear consistent with age and use, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 6 3/4 inches wide. This an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece. BW
