This is a Bach Stradivarius 180S37 Bb trumpet in silver plate. S/n 538XXX is too new for the published lists, but it is likely 2005 or so. It is in excellent condition: silver plate about 99% with just a little wear right at the end of the leadpipe near the main tuning slide. Perhaps a few small marks left over from minor dent removal, but no significant dents, dings, or repairs. This is probably the classiest horn of all the Strads we have in stock, decked out custom finger buttons (perhaps tiger eye quartz,) a brand new ProTec 6-point leather finger guard. Bottom caps are gold plated though a bit faded, and are heavy weight, helping to focus all the horn’s energy at the bell and greatly improving projection. Unlike most of the Strads you may be looking at, this one has also just been through the shop where it was chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, polished, and had all new tuning slide O-rings, water key cork, piston felts and top rod bumper installed. All tuning slides are free including the third valve dump slide. Pistons show very little wear and are fast and smooth with excellent compression. Not also that this horn is oiled with synthetic oil, and you must use the same or thoroughly clean the pistons and casings prior to switching to a petroleum-based product. Valve oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it also includes a Bach 5C and Bach 7C mouthpiece, new ProTec microfiber cloth, and a new ProTec slim profile straight mute. All in the zippered, cordura case with just minor external wear. A great-looking, great-playing Strad with some fun extras, and just in time for marching band!
