Description: Five official USAAF 8x10 photographs of B-25 Mitchell aircraft in the SW Pacific theater. Four of the pictures show aircraft in flight. The other is taken on the ground with the crew. (Nice marking on the nose of the B-25!) Most of the pictures are undated, but the one with the crew was taken in Jne1943. The pictures were taken in New Guinea and New Britain. Each photo includes explanatory text on the reverse, but in some case the text is so faded as to be almost unreadable. These are official photographic prints from original negatives, NOT scans. I don't know when these were printed, but others from the same collection were from the 70s and 80s. The photos are in excellent condition. Three have slight damage to the upper edge caused by having been stored previously in a binder. The damage affects on the white border areas, not the images themselves. Zoom in to the pictures to examine them. Very nice pictures of an iconic aircraft in an interesting theater.
