Description: This module’s infrared sensor LED is adaptable to environments, employing an infrared transmitting and receiving tubes, which emit a certain infrared frequency that detects direction when encountering obstacles (reflecting off surfaces). Reflected infrared light in the receiving tube gets processed through a comparator circuit and then triggers a green indicator light. Simultaneously, the digital signal output switches to a low-level signal that can be routed through a potentiometer to adjust detection distance. The effective distance range is 2 cm to 30cm and the working voltage is 3.3-5V. The sensor’s detection range can be adjusted by a potentiometer and a simple interference. This module is easy to assemble and use. It can be used in robot obstacle avoidance, car obstacle avoidance, production line counting and black/white line tracking, etc. Module Parameters: When the module detects obstacles in front of the sensor a green indicator light will glow and the output level signal will go low. The detection module operates from 2 cm to 30cm (with a 35°detection angle) that can be adjusted through a potentiometer. Adjusting the potentiometer clockwise makes the detection distance increase while tuning the potentiometer clockwise reduces the detection distance. This sensor employs active infrared reflection detection. The reflectivity and shape of the target is vital to the detection and range (e.g., white/black detection range, minimum/maximum, short object distance/large distance). The sensor module output port “OUT” can be directly connected to the microcontroller IO port. It can also drive a 5v relay. Connections include OUT, GND and VCC. This sensor module uses an LM393 comparator. This module operates on 3-5v dc power. When the power is on, a red indicator LED will glow; Installs using 3 mm screws. The circuit board is 3.2cm x 1.4cm. This module is shipped with a calibrated compare-threshold voltage for normal conditions. Please be careful when adjusting the potentiometer as it will impact the modules performance. Interface: 1.
