Description: ANTOINETTE STERLING This is a signed letter by Antoinette Sterling (1850-1904), a famous classical singer of the 19th century. This letter is handwritten on a piece of stationery on which her street address in London is printed (3 Stanhope Place, Marble Arch W.; see scan). The letter is written on both sides. The writing is somewhat faded, but is still legible (although I find her penmanship at times difficult to decipher). She was married to a man named James MacKinlay. This letter is signed using her full married name of "Antoinette Sterling MacKinlay" (see scan 2). The letter was folded in half at the time of writing. Unfolded, the letter is about 3 1/2" by 9". It is in very good condition, with a crease where it has been folded, and some notations in pencil by a previous collector.
