Description: Revolt in the Desert from 1927 Story of World War I legend T. E. Lawrence This is the quasi true memoir of legendary freedom fighter Lawrence of Arabia in very nice collectible condition. Our copy of Revolt in the Desert by T. E. Lawrence is the First Printing in the United States (March 1927). The book has a firm binding and strong hinges. All 333 pages are nicely toned and there is no troublesome foxing. There are no remainder marks, no library stamps, and no signs of prior ownership. Nor is there any writing that we could find in the book, no signatures or gift inscriptions. It does not come with a dust jacket. The map of the Middle East is fully intact and attached to the binding at the rear of the book. There are a number of black and white portraits of key characters throughout the book. The only faults that we could find are two areas of mild sunning along the front spine and rear top board and a possible missing front endpaper. Revolt in the Desert is the extraordinary story of the war in Arabia from 1916-18, written by one of the war's most extraordinary characters, Lawrence of Arabia. It tells of his adventures and life among the Arab tribesmen, the daring raids on the Turks, the demolition of railway lines, the attacking of desert outposts, and of the opening of 'the road to Damascus' and eventual overthrow of the Turks in the inhospitable landscape of the Middle East.
