Authentic WWI American US Army Wool JODHPUR Trousers, PUTTEES + CAP

Description: World War I US Army JODHPUR Trousers, PUTTEES + CAP Absolutely Authentic This lot consists of a pair of original vintage US Army OD wool button-fly jodhpur trousers, a pair of OD wool puttees and an OD wool cap, exactly as shown in our many pictures. The details and measurements of the jodhpurs and cap are on the photos. This lot was purchased years ago in the hope that I could find an equally nice period tunic to you with the trousers. That did not happen so I decided to sell these items. The original jodhpur trousers are in very good condition with no mothing, rips or other damage. They were altered at one time to reduce the waist size by sewing a new seam up the rear. That seam was later remove and the waist size returned to its original dimension. The five heavy white cotton pockets in these trousers are in excellent condition. The original puttees are also in very good condition. The cap is in good condition as shown. It does have wear to the knap of the wool material which is worn down in places from ordinary use. The GI that used the cap hand-sewed the pleat down the center of the top so that it would no longer open and to give the cap what many soldiers considered to be a better appearance. There is one small hole in the OD cloth (that could be easily repaired) at the fold in the back about ½ inch above the bottom edge. Have a look at other military collectibles in our eBay store!
