Description: NICE CONDITION COPPER PIRATE COIN FROM SPANISH EMPIRE DATING FROM 1650's found by members of our staff years ago in Spain. These coins were left in circulation for many years, thus are mostly found in low grades, but not this coin. About the size of US nickel.. These coins were hand hammered, on whichever copper blanks they had on hand, so coins were of various thickness, featured clipped planchets, off center strikes, heavy or slight strikes, splits and cracks from heavy hammer blows, and many other defects.
