Austin Air HealthMate Plus Filter The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Filter, manufactured in Buffalo, NY, is a broad spectrum filter which removes a wide range of chemicals, gases, VOC’s and formaldehyde. It is perfect for people exposed to smoke from wildfires as well as people living close to busy highways. High technology made to last The Austin Air HealthMate® Plus Filter are made of successive layers, including Activated Carbon and HEPA technology. All replacement filters have up to a 5 year life expectancy. First layer is a large particle pre-filter which removes particles you see by the naked eye such as dust, hair and pet dander.Second layer is a medium particle pre-filter which removes small to medium size particles such as molds, spores and pollen. This layer is either gray, blue or green. Third layer is made of over 780 cubic inches of Activated Carbon, Potassium Iodide Impregnated Carbon and Zeolite. It removes Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, benzenes, chemicals, gases and odors.Fourth and final layer is 60 sq. ft. of True Medical Grade HEPA. This technology removes 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and 95% of all particles larger than 0.1 microns.
