Description: On offer is a mens AUGUSTE REYMOND automatic chronograph wristwatch. Powered by the Valjoux ETA 7750 movement and featuring a date display this stylish timepiece is in exceptionally fine condition. Auguste Reymond grew out of the respected ARSA brand (Auguste Reymond SA) in 1989 to concentrate on production of top end, stylish, mechanical watches due to renewed interest following the popularity of the Quartz watch of the seventies. To that end they employed the well known Valjoux 7750 movement (as did several other makers including IWC and Breitling) and was produced in small numbers to satisfy demand. Thus, these watches are scarce and this particular example, with Reference 612.001 is from early production, around 1990, with the logo written in formal caps, soon changing in the 90's to a 'signature' script. This is a strikingly impressive watch, with its four, circular machined, silver registers contrasting with the dark blue face and clean detailing, ensure it is also an easy to read, functional watch. It has a polished steel, screw back with 'O' ring seal. Domed sapphire crystal is in unmarked condition as is the face and case. Chronograph and date work perfectly. Keeps excellent time, never more than 1 second variance over the 24 hour test. Case measures 38.5mm (plus crown) X 46mm X 13mm thick with a 20mm strap. Of relevance is that the Valjoux company was originally begun in 1901 by the Reymond brothers to produce movements, the Auguste Reymond brand beginning in 1898, becoming ARSA in the 1920's.
