Description: Audiotape / Capitol High Performance Tape, LP, 7" Reel, 1800 ft, Refurbished Audio Devices was a quality American brand of reel to reel tapes in the 1950s through the 1970s. Their tapes were often used for professional recordings in the 1950s and 1960s and had a great reputation. In 1972 they were purchased by Capitol Records. In 1970 the two joined forces to release the Capitol Sound Tape, their high performance tape in a series of 6 "Beautiful Boxes". The performance is rated at type 2 "Low Noise", similar to Scotch 203 / 212 and other low noise formulations developed at this time. Later this formulation was released as Capitol's "High Performance Tape" A full line of tape sizes and lengths were available in SP, LP, DP and TP versions. This is a formula that has withstood the test of time. It is amazing to consider that you can make a high quality recordings on a 50 year old tape, but this is indeed possible. What are refurbished tapes?• First, we only select tape formulas for refurbishment that have proven to withstand the test of time and will be reliable.• Tape formula and length are verified to match the box type, so you know what you are getting.• All tapes have been wound, cleaned, and checked to make sure the entire length of the tape is defect free (no folds, bends, tears, splices, stretches, or oxide shedding).• All tapes are bulk erased, if Priority Mail is selected.
