Crestron Audio over CAT5 Extenders are ideal for use with a Sonnex Multiroom Audio System to provide one or more audio return channels. An audio return channel allows an audio source located in any room of the house to be routed to any other room through the central audio distribution system. Each AUD-EXT transmitter and receiver is designed to allow for mounting to a suitable flat surface or to a single rack rail in the back of an equipment rack. Three units can also fit neatly side-by-side on a standard 1U 19" rack shelf. AUD-EXT devices are completely passive, eliminating any extra cables or power supplies. Connecting a transmitter to its companion receiver requires just a single high-quality CAT5 (or better) UTP cable[1].
