Description: BEAUTIFUL Goddess Athena, the embodiment of a powerful, smart woman in Greek Mythology! As the Greek deity of wisdom, war and talents, she was the inspiration for which the mighty Parthenon was built! This enchanting sculpture features the Athena at the watchful ready, holding her spear and a shield embellished with one of her symbols, the snake. The detail is superb, even seeing the details of a kneecap through the drape of her robe! She stands atop a base with a "Greek Key" design around the perimeter and her name carved in the front. This is cast in soft alabaster stone, made in Greece. As a goddess of war, she appears to have emerged mostly intact from battle! Her spear point is chipped, and there is a repair made to the exterior of the shield, which almost looks like marble-like veining. The back of the piece shows a small chip to the robe. Please see photos for details. Approximate dimensions are: 9 3/8 inches in height, 2 5/8 inches in width and 2 1/4 inches in depth. Item comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home.
