Description: ASTROPHYTUM MYRIOSTIGMA- Often called "Bishop's Cap Cactus", "Bishop's Miter", "Bishop's Hat". Originally classified as Echinocactus, generally always now listed as Astropytum myriostigma. Native to north eastern and north central Mexico, ranging from Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi and Zacateceas states. Nice seed grown plant, an old beautiful specimen aprx. 3 1/4 inches wide an 2 1/2 inches tall. Originally a native to Mexico, this genus includes only five species, very attractive yellow flowers when blooming. Hardy and fairly easy to grow in most climates to 20 F., they like bright light and can reach about 36 inches tall (takes many years as these are not fast growers). Photos here are of the plant you are buying. Shipped bare root, no soil or pot. FREE SHIPPING. Great plant for size. All of these slow growing Astrophytums have really jumped up in price, not enough growers willing to take the time it seems.
