He was supervisor of operations research at International Harvester; senior scientist at IIT Research Institute; and is a professor emeritus at Illinois Institute of Technology. He is the co-author of Humanism and Technology in Assembly Line Systems, Hayden Books; author of Applied Forecasting Methods, Prentice Hall; Inventory Management and Planning, Hitchcock Publishing Company; Fundamentals of Queuing Systems, Springer; Fundamentals of Production, Inventory and the Supply Chain, Atlantic; and Essentials of Monte Carlo Simulation, Springer. He has published numerous papers, and for many years he has consulted in a wide variety of industries in the United States, Europe and Asia.
