Born: 1913 - Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaDied: 1983 - Hollywood, CaliforniaKnown for: Walt Disney Studio animation, training film director, painting, game design Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 7, 1913. Elliott entered the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1931 for a four-year course of study and continued his art studies in Europe. In 1936 he moved to Los Angeles where he exhibited in local shows and was an animator for Disney Studios for six years. During WWII he served in the U.S. Navy, producing and directing training films. In 1949 he left Los Angeles and established a studio in Paris and in 1957 settled in Italy. While in Europe he had many solo exhibitions in Paris and Rome. As well as portraits in watercolor (some in oil), Elliott also designed chess sets. Returning to California in 1983, he died on April 7 at his home in Hollywood Art Elliott, who animated for Disney from 7/13/1936 to 1941. He animated hippos and alligators in Fantasia and Bambi's mother in Bambi, including one of her grazing, one of the most reused scenes in the Disney canon.
