Description: Art Deco Vintage Fashion Print Paul Poiret Evening Gown Design Illustrated by Mario Simon 1920 for Gazette du Bon Ton Note: this is an original book plate/print carefully removed from a first edition dis-bound book published by Rizzoli in 1979. Genuine item, not a copy or reprint, guaranteed 38 years old. It must be stressed the print itself whilst vintage, being 38 years old, does not date from the Art Deco period, it is a print of an Art Deco fashion design. Printed on high quality gloss paper with black border. Would look wonderful mounted and framed either alone or in a group (please see my other listings for the same designer/illustrator. Overall size approx. 16.5cm x 23.5cm Paul Iribe was a French Illustrator, cartoonist, designer, decorator, and art director. Starting his illustration career at the very young age of seventeen, he contributed work for papers such as L’Assiette au Beurre Rire, and Sourire. Iribe’s style worked hand-in-hand with fashion designer Paul Poiret’s modern ideas to popularise Poiret’s rather radical relaxed line of clothing. The controversy around the collection ultimately brought publicity and success to both Poiret and Iribe. All prints packaged very carefully to reach you in perfect condition. Please note free postage applies to UK only, please see listing for overseas postage costs.
