Description: Gorgeous original Art Deco Bonzo “Stop Flirting” print in lovely condition. In 1912, George E. Studdy signed a contract with "The Sketch" to produce a weekly full-page drawing. Bonzo the dog first appeared in several of Studdy's sketches in 1922. "The Sketch" was a British illustrated weekly journal, which focused on high society and the aristocracy. It ran for 2,989 issues from the 1st of February 1893 to the 17th of June 1959. It was published by the Illustrated London News Company and was primarily a society magazine with regular features on royalty and the aristocracy, theatre, cinema and art studies. It had a high photographic content with many studies of society ladies and their children as well as regular layouts of point to point racing meetings and similar events. This original print was published in 1924 and depicts Bonzo flirting with a black/white Cocker Spaniel under a parasol while a Pekingese is telling him to stop flirting. Ready to frame. Measurements: 44.2cm H x 36.7cm W. Absolutely adorable! If you have any questions, let me know.
