All sides contain hand crafted intricate patterns from the Art Nouveau period. Lid comes all the way off only to find a hidden elephant on the bottom side. Embossed and repoussé brass makes this piece of art a true conversation piece Ownership history is not available. I purchased it at an estate auction & only know the above details and that it was probably crafted sometime between 1901-1921.
