The one installed is set low for summer and autumn, and the other for harsh winter weather changes, and for any occasion where a higher string action is desired. Also included is a hard-shell arched case and a fair bow that was recently re-haired. When you put your bow to it, it speaks of events and happenings half a century ago. It clearly remembers Woodstock and has instant sympathetic vibrations and resonance with the band, “It’s a Beautiful Day” and David LaFlamme's distinctive fiddle playing on “White Bird”. This vintage fiddle will take you back on a sweet journey into days gone by. You’ll be wrapped up in its aura of past performances through which its resonance developed over years that it has never left, abandoned, or ever forgotten. The cosmetic condition is depreciated with noticeable repaired hairline cracks, scratches, nicks and general finish wear. There are pits, touchups, finish marks, and dings, all of which testify to its illustrious history and contribute to its deep, rich character. The previous owner refused to ever fully refinish the fiddle, since that would have removed its patina and evidence of its vintage standing.
