Description: Antique Wheeling Pottery Red Iris Ironstone Pitcher 7 1/2" 1880-1920 The pitcher features a hand painted green leaf and red iris pattern and a long square handle. The pitcher was manufactured by the Wheeling Pottery Company, which existed from ~1880-1920. Other pitchers of the same pattern are impressed "No 140-2" on the bottom. The pitcher has several flaws given its age and use. There is a chip on the inside of the top lip, as well as some smaller chips in the outside glaze and paint, notably on one of the green leaves. The pitcher has heavy crazing and some discoloration and darker marks. There are some hairline cracks on the bottom edge, and one appears to have bled into the paint. Please see pictures for condition. The pitcher measures roughly 6 1/4" x 5" x 7 5/8" tall and weighs 2 pounds 3 oz.
