Description: Wedgwood Green Gladys Royal Semi Porcelain Oval Serving Platter Antique 1900 This is a very old oval platter in the Gladys pattern from Wedgwood. There are stand marks on the back glaze from when it fired in the kiln, which was a common production method at the time. In addition the the Royal Wedgwood stamp on the back, there the number 3 stamped as well as an imprint made in the clay prior to glazing and firing that looks like "SP" but I cannot tell for sure exactly what it is. The platter is in good condition for it's age. There is minimal to no crazing of the glaze. I can feel minor wear to the glaze along the edges of the platter. There is significant wear to the gold paint on edges of the platter and some loss of gold paint to the raised areas highlighted along the edge. The green floral pattern is still crisp and sharp. Please view all the photos as they are part of the description. From a smoke-free, climate controlled home.
