Antique Vintage Wood Shaft Spalding Morristown Gunmetal Smooth Putter D 3

Description: This item is an antique vintage right-handed 34" wood shaft putter. Made by Spalding from their Morristown series. Early smooth face made of gunmetal/brass. The head is in good condition. Yes, it has the expected play nicks and dings but is not damaged. Please look at the many zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old hickory. The shaft has a bend, I see no cracks and it is tight at the hosel. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in fair vintage condition. D 3 swingweight. If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this hickory shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. Always re-set heads prior to play if it hasn't already been done. These hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old hickory shafted wood with a hard range ball.
