When the 1930s-era science laboratory building was renovated, many of the "older" specimens were parsed out. Though I cannot with certainty date this jar, it must be pre-1967, as the General Biological Supply House closed its doors that year. I would estimate this wet jar to be circa 1950. This is a beautiful example of a vintage wet jar containing a fully di$$ected and doubly injected rat. The veins and arteries are easily distinguished and all major organs are clear and distinct. An excellent addition to a classroom or general decor. Please view the pictures carefully. As you can see, all labels are clear and intact, with no evidence of deterioration. The glass jar is original condition with no chips or breaks. The black seal on top is in excellent condition, with only light wear to the black decorative cover seal. There is NO break in the jar seal. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition. Photos attest to the clear quality of the preservative, with no cloudiness or tissue sediment present in the bottom. The fluid level is probably original, with no broken seals or loss of preservative. The preservative is likely alcohol for a specimen of this era.
