Description: For your consideration is a incredible mortise knob latch set manufactured by Yale & Towne MFG Co. in Stamford Conn. in the early 1900's. The latch is # 1023 as shown in the 1929 Yale trade catalog. The set comes with jet black porcelain knobs and decorative Eastlake back plates. The strike and latch face are made of brass. The latch body is cast iron. The latch is in excellent functional condition - it has been refurbished - all parts disassembled, cleaned and properly reassembled. The porcelain knobs are in very good condition with a few negligible nicks & scratches. Dimensions are as follows: Face plate: 4" x 7/8", Distance between the face and center-of-hub (set back): 2-3/8". Comes with everything you see in the photos.
