Description: ANTIQUE Victorian Mourning Jewelry. 1.25" square. Layered Maltese cross in a silver metal brooch with a glass covered receptacle to hold hair or relic. Brooch is hand wroght and appears credely made from the underside. Glass is irregular cut, pinback is roughly applied. The receptacle is large enough to hold a lock of hair. Right now sealed inside is a seed or tiny piece of bone. A bead is missing off the edge and the dome has a slight dimple. Metal is not marked but is probably 800 silver. At least 100 years old!
