Description: This is stunning original antique (turn of the century) wide layered picture frame with highly detailed outer border featuring chain pattern along the edge and lattice with acanthus leaves and flowers along the inside under the original brown finish. The central layer is rounded and smooth and the inner layers are gilt in silver and gold with very highly detailed floral and swirl patterns. Inside the frame is the original wavy, bubbly glass over an empty wood frame that once had canvas attached. Condition is excellent. All gesso and finish is nearly 100% intact with only a few minor touch-ups that are not noticeable (largest one shown in the last photo). There is very little wear to any visible surface and all corners are tight. The entire piece is sturdy and solid. The empty art frame in the back could be removed to add a portrait or another piece of art, but a new back panel will likely need to be added to protect the back. There is a newer hanging wire attached. The frame measures 29 1/4" L x 26 1/4" H and the opening in the back measures 14" x 17". It will be packed securely, double boxed, and fully insured during shipping. Please provide a street address for shipping as this will not be delivered to a P.O. box.
