This really is an genuinely stunning article, as you can see from the photographs this stationary / letter box has some most exquisite coromandel veneers which have the most superb grain. It has then be finished with beautifully shaped and engraved gilt mounts. The quality of this box is exceptional. The exterior has beautiful shaped and engraved gilt mounts and there is a nicely shaped escutcheons to the key hole and a lovely decorative mount to the top of the box. the top is nicely curved and lifts to reveal a blue silk to the inside of the lid and the box is divided into 8 compartments of various sizes. The box is complete with it's original lock and a key. DIMENSIONS:The approximate dimensions are: - 24 cm long- 13 cm deep-18 cm high AGE:The writing box is circa 1880. CONDITION:The stationary box is in lovely condition, just minor knocks and marks commensurate with age as can be seen from the photographs.
