Description: Antique Victorian Brass Kettle Trivet with Royal Order of the Garter Motto & Crest.Research indicates a 19th century Victorian date for this trivet we think it could also date into the early 20th century.Showing the English Royal coat of arms or a suggestion of (possibly slightly spurious) the lion and a unicorn either side of a shield -"Dieu Et Mon Droit" - " God and my right''."Honi soit qui mal y pense" - "Spurned be the one who evil thinks".The latter motto belongs to the Order of The Garter and as such was seen on British coins of George 3rd and buttons etc. Possibly all it's feet don't touch the ground correctly as it has a very slight wobble.Condition as per picture
